Gravel

With the growing popularity of Gravel Riding, in addition to our regular road rides, we have recently launched “DRCC Glorious Gravel” for those members who want to get off the beaten track and enjoy a different kind of riding away from traffic.

Back in the day, Gravel was called “Rough Stuff” and it was something you did on your normal touring bike. Nowadays, “Gravel” tends to describe a ride on a drop handlebar bike on unpaved roads and trails, encompassing all types of terrain, including gravel, single track woodland paths, farm tracks, and bridleways.

Club Gravel rides are organised by Steve Broatch and so far members have enjoyed local routes, events organised by Glorious Gravel, taken part in the Dirty Reiver, and raced in the Traka and The Gralloch.

If you enjoy adventure and unspoilt countryside, Gravel could be for you! If you’d like to get involved, have a word with Steve who will gladly assist with all your gravel related questions
